The World Scientific Congress of Golf

The WSCG is held every 2 to 3 years and is hosted in a range of locations around the world.

The World Scientific Congress of Golf (WSCG) has long been a place for sharing information, learning, and building connections among golfers, scientists, academics, and practitioners such as coaches and instructors. Its goal from the beginning has been to share research and help turn it into practical applications.

Golf Science exists to strengthen communication between coaches and researchers, with the aim of improving the game through education and by making the most of both scientific and coaching expertise.

The Golf Science board is committed to providing open access to all abstracts and research papers published in the Journal and made available on this website.

We are always welcoming new contributions to both the Journal and the upcoming World Scientific Congress of Golf.   • The 12th World Scientific Congress of Golf will be hosted in March 2027 by California State University Fullerton at the Titleist Performance Institute in Carlsbad, California, USA.

  • The 11th World Scientific Congress of Golf (WSCG) was hosted in July 2024 by the Sports Technology Research Group at Loughborough University, UK. WSCG 2024 was an international forum for academics, researchers and industrial leaders to meet with coaches and practitioners to discuss all aspects of golf science.

  • The 10th World Scientific Congress of Golf was hosted by Sanford Health in September 2022 in Sioux Falls, SD, USA.

  • The 9th World Scientific Congress of Golf was held in Abbotsford, British Columbia in 2018 in conjunction with the University of the Fraser Valley. The conference involved 3 great days of keynotes, workshops and presentations. In total there were around 70 presentations given on subjects all across the golf science spectrum.

  • The 8th World Scientific Congress og Golf was hosted at the University of Saint Andrews at the Home of Golf in Fife, Scotland in July 2016.

  • The 7th World Scientific Congress of Golf was hosted in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, in March 2014.

  • The 6th World Scientific Congress of Golf was hosted in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, in 2012.

  • The 5th World Scientific Congress of Golf was hosted in Chandler, Arizona, USA in 2008.

  • The 4th World Scientific Congress of Golf was hosted in Saint Andrews, Fife, Scotland in 2002.

  • The 3rd World Scientific Congress of Golf was hosted in Saint Andrews, Fife, Scotland in 1998.

  • The 2nd World Scientific Congress of Golf was hosted in Saint Andrews, Fife, Scotland in 1994.
